Government Inspector- Ohio University (2018)

I re-upholstered this chaise by removing the original fabric, then used that as a rough pattern for the new fabric.  The fabric was stretched and stapled to reach around the curves.  Ariel Lacey, another props artisan, stitched the edge band of the seat to the top panel of the seat.  We then worked together to stretch and staple the seat fabric.

Tartuffe- Texas Shakespeare Festival (2018)

To upholster these two chairs, I first created a pattern for the wooden parts of the chairs by covering them in plastic wrap, and then using masking tape to map out where I wanted the cushions to go.  From there, I made the seats, put batting on them, and then upholstered them.  I used gimp to mask where the fabric was staples to the chair frame.

The Skin of Our Teeth- Ohio University (2018)

To re-upholster this chair, it was a team project between Ariel Lacey and myself.  We worked together to use the original fabric as rough patterns for the fabric that we were working with.  The plaid fabric was difficult to upholster with because the fabric had to be perfectly stretched in order to keep the lines from being wavy  It was also difficult to make sure the fabric remained pattern matched throughout the process.

Personal Project (2020)

I re-upholstered this chair by removing the original fabric, then used that as a rough pattern for the new fabric.  The old, brown fabric that was on the chair when I purchased it had been over stuffed and not stretched correctly.  I updated the fabric to a more appropriate blue upholstery fabric to go in my bedroom.
